Fallen Comet

A Mana infused comet crashed into the planet, instead of causing untold death and destruction, it created life. Before the large, fragmented pieces earth and rock could be flung into space, the Mana of the meteor caught many of these huge fragments and held them in place, creating continent size rocks to float high in the air that would eventually become the home of many and known as the Floating Isles, the creatures near the impact zone awashed with so much mana, their bodies were permanently altered by the event, eventually leading to the creation of the fearsome creatures such as Dragons. Today, the natives of the area celebrate this day where the meteor has fallen which resides in the center of Meteor Fall. Chunks of this meteor did spilt and hit other parts of the globe, creating other floating islands and other phenomena around the globe. Chunks of this meteor are constantly fought over by kingdoms, countries, and everyone wanting to harness this ancient and powerful resource as it still holds a lot of Mana, small chunks can be used to forge mythical weapons, armor, and tools or be used as a powerful energy source.
